19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a former number one, has had a difficult period, winning just one win at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former trainer his previous coach.

Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface since March of 2023.

The win also means he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour title, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game break points in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.

Suitably, he earned the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
